Filmmaker and conference speaker Tom Dunn of Through the Black Ministries believes Christians are more powerful than demons – they just don’t know it.
“As Christians, we have authority to command demonic presence out. They have to listen, it’s not an option. We’ve been deputized to be able to do this. Christians don’t know they have authority,” Dunn told Coach Dave Daubenmire during the August 1 episode of “Pass The Salt” on Brighteon.TV.
Dunn pointed out that when a person becomes a Christian, he or she becomes deputized with the authority of Christ just like a police officer or a judge. Christian believers can help other people break curses, strongholds and oppression that demonic forces have brought upon them, Dunn said.
Demonic possession, according to Dunn, is when a demon is residing inside a person and has control over that person. He added a demon cannot reside in a person where the Spirit of God is living.
Demons can bring oppression and have strongholds in people’s lives.
“How did demons get in? We opened the door in our lives through sin to demonic presence through demonic entities. When we open the door through sin, that gives them legal access,” Dunn explained. “Believers must not allow a demonic spirit to have a foothold or legal right in their life and they have to evict them with the authority of Christ.” (Related: Dr. Stella Immanuel tells Stew Peters: People need to pray for personal revival and the nation.)
Sin essentially opens the door for demons while repentance kicks them out and closes the door.
Dunn went on to say that these spiritual enemies want to kill, influence, tempt, harm, distract and stop people from getting saved. He also mentioned that any feeling of heaviness that lasts more than two days could mean a demonic entity is trying to bring oppression into the life of a believer. “This demon is trying to keep Christian believers from whatever it is they are supposed to be doing,” he said.
Daubenmire pointed out that when Christian believers move into a new realm in their spiritual walk by effectively spreading the gospel and advancing the Kingdom of God, the enemy will send demonic forces that are going to blitz and come after them.
“And most people, when that happens to them, they are shocked because they don’t understand the warfare that’s going on around them,” Daubenmire said.
Dunn agreed and he stated that the devil is using the same trick all over again. The Ohio-based filmmaker and YouTube channel host added that Christians need to develop themselves spiritually by reading the Word of God, praying, training and teaching.
While Christians have Divine protection, Dunn said they have vulnerabilities and can let their guard down. “The enemy can get access to believers and they are not immune from temptation,” he said.
